Arles reveals itself… between Roman times, Roman era and contemporary era
The visitor will discover more than 2,000 years of history to Arles, a city of history listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The remains of the ancient Roman colony Arelate are everywhere, but so are the places immortalized in the greatest masterpieces of Vincent Van Gogh. Arles has recently seen the opening of Luma Arles, a great cultural center, and the Lee Ufan Arles foundation, dedicated to the Korean contemporary artist.

02.30 pm: Meeting point in front of the tourist information office. Presentation of the town’s visit.
03.00 pm : Discovery of the Luma Arles with a learning officer.
Discovery of the entire project, the surroundings of the tower designed by Frank Gehry.
Then the visit will go through the main monuments: the Romanesque time, Van Gogh’s life in Arles, the contemporary art, the traditions…
05.15 pm: Painting workshop “The Van Gogh way”: painting techniques, inspiration locations, his life story… For one hour, the famous artist will be put in the spotlight and the participants will leave with their own “masterpiece” after the workshop.
06.30 pm: End of the visit

3:30 pm Meeting at the Tourist Information Office of Martigues for the presentation of the new quay then departure for the Ile district: quick visit of the sites and monuments.
4:30 pm: Boarding and commented discovery of the city by boat from its canals (45 min)
05.30 pm: Return to Arles by coach
06.30 pm: End of the visit

Between secrets, legends and heritage
Tarascon, the city where the real and the imaginary mix according to History. At the foot of its medieval castle on the Rhone’s banks, we expect to meet a King of France, or even Alphonse Daudet’s Tartarin! In the historical center, the Tarasque, a legendary monster, can surprise the visitor at the bend of a street…

02.50 pm: Arrival in Tarascon
Visit of Tarascon’s castle, the best preserved medieval fortress in France located on the banks of the Rhone.
Then discovery of the Souleïado museum and the manufacture’s secrets of the famous Indians known all over the world.
06.00 pm: Return to Arles by coach.
06:30 pm: end of the visit.

Saint Louis du Rhône port eductour

Discovery of the wild spaces of Camargue
Gateway to the wild Camargue, Saint Louis du Rhone Port is located at the mouth of the Grand Rhone, between the river and the sea. The city offers a remarkable territory with a strong character where the visitor will have the pleasure of discovering its multiple charms such as shellfish farming, the flagship gastronomy of the territory.

02:30 pm: Departure from Arles by bus to Port Saint Louis du Rhône.
03:15 pm: Arrival by bus at the foot of the St Louis tower, tourist information office and the great ornithological museum.
Then departure from the St Louis tower by electric bike along the ViaRhôna to Camargue Coquillages, a shellfish purification station (labeled as “Accueil Vélo”) with an oyster gluing workshop.
Return by bus to the Saint Louis tower for a visit of the historical monument of the city.
05:45 pm: return to Arles by bus.

Arles by bike eductour

Camargue by bike from Arles on the ViaRhôna
Dive into the heart of ancient Arles and then pedal south on the Via Rhôna, a cycling route that runs from Lake Geneva to the Mediterranean. Van Gogh bridge, canal from Arles to Bouc, cultures… the landscapes of Camargue pass by along this bucolic itinerary. Shortly before Mas Thibert, here are the vineyards and the Domaine Attilon where passionate wine growers open their doors to you.

02:30 pm: After an introduction to Arles’ heritage from the Departmental Museum of Ancient Arles, departure for a guided bike tour of about 20 km (about 2 hours) with electric or muscle-powered bikes.
04:30 pm: End of the bike ride at the Attilon wine estate, followed by a wine tasting by Odile and Renaud De Roux, the winegrowers.
06.15 pm : Return to Arles by bus
06:30 pm: End of the visit

Boarding point: on the quays in front of Frédéric Mistral high school. This visit will be commented by Arles tourist information office, the SACHA, CNR and VNF.
